Charleston, it felt good to be back at home. Tom now knew that Charleston, not England or India was his home. He of course did have family and memories of these places, but there was nothing for him there. Charleston was where his inheritance and his future lied. It was sad to see the Albie laid up and the crew all leaving for their homes, but Tom knew that in peacetime, large Navies could not be afforded and some downsizing had to occur.
